Bills Kyle Williams Calls Team Out After Loss
“He’s gained the confidence of everybody through his work ethic in practice, training camp, what he’s done in all these games”, Brady said.
“We’re going to take our shots”, wide receiver Antonio Brown said. At least, that’s what we think. But shoot, it’s to their credit. “Right now, it’s hard to play against a good football team, and you’ve also got to overcome penalties”.
Still, that didn’t quell Ryan’s irritation regarding what happened. He lit up a unit many believe to be one of the best defenses in the league. You can’t give up 500 yards and beat anybody.
“I mean, we honestly ignore all the outside noise and focus on our job each week”, Amendola said.
His players agreed that the performance was basically disgraceful.
Palmer was 17 of 24 with 185 yards to improve to 15-2 in his last 17 starts. “But sometimes you let your emotions get the better of you and it went to our detriment. Belichick outcoached me. No question about it”.
The Patriots handled the Bills 40-32, and it really wasn’t that close. Punter Ryan Allen made only one punt for a respectable 54 yards, but Buffalo punt returner Marcus Thigpen brought it back 14 yards.
“I’m embarrassed”, Kyle Williams said.
“For a one o’clock game on Sunday, it’s going to feel like it’s a primetime game”, Brady said. In the end, I cheated a bit and chose to go with six stars from the game, including a couple that include entire position groups.
After failing to throw an interception or endure a sack versus the Colts, he was dumped eight times and picked off on three occasions by the Patriots. “We killed ourselves”, said Taylor, who finished 23 of 30 for 242 yards with three touchdowns.
LeSean McCoy looked healthy, and made many plays when it seemed he was dead in the water. Edelman did have a couple of dropped passes in the first half, but fellow receiver Danny Amendola made a spectacular catch for 29 yards in the fourth quarter to help New England hold off Buffalo’s rally. Rest assured Ryan learned Dion Lewis’ name after seeing him get 138 total yards and scoring a touchdown. The players, the coaches, and the fans put a lot into this game and a loss like this could have lasting effects. He completed 38 of 59 passes and threw three touchdowns.
When the Patriots realized the quality of the Bills front seven, they could not stop going to the air.
Brady threw for more yards (466) than anyone has against Buffalo in its franchise history.
He concluded, “The way the game unfolded in the first half is literally the blueprint for how they beat you”. The All-Pro was rarely doubled – save for at the goal line, which the Bills screwed up the first time around – and he didn’t see his first jam at the line of scrimmage until five minutes into the second quarter. The Bills opened up the game with a dominant offensive drive to take a 7-0 lead.
Until they absolutely needed it, the Bills hardly passed.
Rex Ryan is known for his blitzes, but couldn’t dial them up against the Patriots’ no-huddle attack. He missed an extra point, inexcusable on a fairly tame day weather wise. The undisciplined play of the special teams contributed mightily to very bad field position early, which the Patriots capitalized on to grab the game by the throat. But Randall Johnson was called for a penalty, which wiped out most of the yardage gained. Buffalo Bills fans were treating this like a playoff game. Rex Ryan admitted the defensive plan, and its execution, was horrendous, and he was right.
