Bills: Odell Beckham a ‘prima donna’ that threw punches
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. garners widespread attention for his spectacular one-handed catches and his endorsements. According to several players on the Buffalo Bills – which fell to Beckham and the Giants over the weekend – the second-year wideout responded to physical play by throwing punches. Though we can’t see much there.
Among the actors generating these kinds of assertions appeared to be Bills retreat Duke Williams, who exactly gave the impression to require a type the facial skin from Beckham after barricading him after a Stephon Gilmore interception. That one’s pretty clear.
Players saw on the Giants/Redskins film from the previous week that Beckham does this often after the whistle.
“A guy like that”, Williams said, “you expect him to be a stand-up guy but I guess it is a part of his game”. “He acts like… you’re supposed to let him catch the ball”. It’s a physical game. Players also described the Giants receiver as a “prima donna” and a “golden boy”. He feels like he’s on top of the world and nobody’s supposed to do anything to him.
Linebacker Preston Brown was among the most vocal critics of Beckham, and he even slammed the receiver for getting away with his actions for being a star player. Words usually don’t do anything, but when they start swinging at you – they did that a lot.
The Bills don’t have to submit a formal complaint or accusation to the National Football League about Beckham if they believe he threw punches.
It will be very interesting to see how Beckham behaves during the Giants’ game against the San Francisco 49ers on October. 11 now that his cheap tactics have seemingly been exposed.
“That’s what he does. Sometimes, you get away with stuff like that”.
