Bills suspend coach Aaron Kromer for first six games of the year
The Buffalo Bills announced they have suspended offensive line coach Aaron Kromer without pay for the first six games of the season. He was fired at the end of the season, along with the rest of the coaching staff. He hooked on with the Buffalo Bills as an offensive line coach, then found worse headlines. The team made its decision after conducting its own investigation in conjunction with the NFL. “We labored together with the NFL on this matter and we’re extremely supportive of the NFL Private Conduct Coverage that holds all NFL membership staff to a better normal”. The charges stemmed from a July 11 incident in which Aaron Kromer was alleged to have punched a boy in the face and threatened to kill his family in a dispute over beach chairs.
The Bills are scheduled to practice Monday night, before getting a day off on Tuesday. He will be allowed to work until his suspension begins. The suspension will run through Buffalo’s game against Cincinnati on October. 18.
Kromer had been on indefinite leave from the Bills. And Anderson is expected to take over once again during Kromer’s suspension.
Kromer has coached in the NFL since 2001 with the Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccanneers, New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears, where he was offensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
The news broke after camp ended Friday so Saturday was the first opportunity for Bills head coach Rex Ryan to comment. He listed left guard Richie Incognito, center Eric Wood and left tackle Cordy Glenn as players he regards to have earned starting jobs.
