Bills-Titans final score: Buffalo ekes out ugly 14-13 win
Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota wasn’t great, but he made enough big plays to put his team in the lead. But with the defense the Bills are allegedly supposed to have (I say allegedly because they are now 22 in Yards allowed per game), against a rookie QB and a backfield that is in disarray, the Bills should have a field day.
I know it is still early in the season, but this is as close to a must-win game that the Bills are going to have.
It was not even remotely pretty, but Tyrod Taylor gutted through the second half and scrounged up two touchdowns in a 14-13 road win for the Bills over the Titans. They’ll take on the 1-3 Dolphins next weekend.
– If the Bills are successful with limiting the short passing game, then Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams, and whoever else have a huge opportunity for success against a lackluster interior offensive line. The Bills are clearly the better team all around, but yet, most think this game could go either way. But the Titans settled for a pair of field goals by Ryan Succop and a 1-yard TD run by Antonio Andrews.
In the loss to Cleveland, it was two bombs from Johnny Manziel to Travis Benjamin and the home loss to the Colts was two converted third and twenty plays that bailed out the Colts. The onus to win this game for the Bills will turn to Tyrod Taylor and his favorite target, tight end, Charles Clay.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Denarius Moore (17) fumbles under…
– For the fifth straight week, the Buffalo Bills have a fantastic chance to come away with a victory, but it all depends on how they adjust to what has beaten them before. And honestly, after last week’s disappointing performance against the New York Giants, that’s exactly what the Bills have been through the first four games of the season. The Bills have just seven sacks, and they are ranked 29th in pass defense. We saw a borderline dominant performance against Miami, and against this Tennessee offense, all the pieces are in place to do it again. Shady McCoy and Karlos Williams have already both been ruled out, while Sammy Watkins’ calf injury will make him a game-time decision. Maybe Taylor and the Bills can run over actual defenders in the second half rather than just truck sticking the coaching staff. The MMQB reported last month Mariota is respected like a veteran among his teammates.
