Bills vs. Seahawks injury report: LeSean McCoy, Percy Harvin active for Buffalo
McCoy is very unlikely to be his usual deadly self tonight and even if he is he will soon be exhausted of getting swamped on every play.
Here are four storylines to watch on Monday Night Football.
Q: Do you think that Rex Ryan and Greg Roman set out with the intention of making Tyrod Taylor “the next Russell Wilson” and has the strategy on offense made notable changes in the passing game since Roman was sacked?
– Russell Wilson and Tyrod Taylor will face each other for the first time in the National Football League, but their first meeting came in college when Taylor’s Virginia Tech team topped Wilson’s No. 23 NC State team, 41-30. Russell Wilson has to play better for the Seahawks to succeed with their remaining schedule.
This will be perhaps the best defense the Bills have and will face the entire 2016 season as the Seahawks rank in the top ten in all major defensive categories.
Buffalo has often gone with just two or even one down linemen in their sub-packages, frequently deploying four and five linebackers in nickel and dime packages. “There was no chance I wasn’t playing”. Don’t be surprised if rookie C.J. Prosise cuts into his playing time. “But we have to approach (tonight) as it’s a ‘must” game, and I think that’s for the rest of the way (this season)”.
Prosise turned in a productive line, rushing 4 times for 23 yards and catching 4 passes for 80 yards, although one of those receptions was a 43-yard gain on a fake punt.
Will they, can they, finally run?: If the Seahawks don’t run it and well against these Bills, they may never – at least not at least until injured Thomas Rawls returns perhaps November 20.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seahawks are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Bills after opening as a 7-point favorite. “I’m rejuvenated, so we’ll see what happens”. It should be a fascinating matchup against LeSean McCoy, Taylor, and Mike Gillislee.
The Bills’ injuries at wide receiver prompted them to contact Harvin recently to see if he was interested in returning. In their Week 7 loss to Miami, the Dolphins engineered a seven-minute, 32-second drive that resulted in a field goal, while the New England Patriots had a six-minute, 30-second touchdown drive in their Week 8 loss.
For this morning’s News Tribune I wrote of the Seahawks’ positive reaction to former teammate Percy Harvin coming out of retirement last week to play in his return to Seattle for the first time since the team traded him two seasons ago.
Prior to hurting his hamstring, McCoy had been on a tear.
RB Christine Michael: The Awakening has slumbered a bit the last few weeks – Michael has 214 yards on 62 carries the last four games, 3.45 yards per carry. Collins rushed for 3,703 yards in three seasons for the Razorbacks while Williams rushed for 2,321 in parts of three injured-filled seasons. I’m sure they’ll look at it.
Last season with Buffalo, Harvin was limited to 19 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown before undergoing right knee surgery in January.
“But if we saw a person that could help us get better, and upgrade a position, we’re going to do it, be it wide receiver or any other position”. “I didn’t say we’ll play him 50 snaps, but I will”.
