Bindi and Derek Hough took home the trophy on Tuesday night, and the 17-year-old star was delighted and “overwhelmed”.
Bindi Irwin and Nick Carter were undoubtedly moving on to the final three, the final spot was a toss-up between PenaVega and American hero Alek Skarlatos.
Bindi Irwin, Australian actress, presenter and daughter of late wildlife warrior Steve Irwin, has taken her global stardom to new heights after winning hit U.S. reality TV show Dancing With the Stars.
“I have dedicated this entire journey to all of you and my attractive family”.
Meanwhile, Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess were delcared the first runner-up, while Alek and Lindsay were the second runner-up.
“I watched you as a little girl”.
One of her most memorable performances on Dancing with the Stars was a heartfelt tribute to her father, Steve Irwin, who passed away 9 years ago. “Honestly, Bindi deserved it”, he said.
By the way, this is Hough’s sixth Mirror Ball. “Derek put that in this freestyle, and I feel that Dad is with me every day”, she added.
With her head in his neck, she could be heard saying, “I love you… thank you”.
Members of the audience were visibly moved to tears, as were the judges who had predicted that Bindi was a frontrunner. In the end, Irwin had been the most consistent, and she was the clear champion.
The duo’s emotional performance ended with a projected photo of a young Irwin kissing her father Steve on the cheek. “I can’t believe I’m here”, Irwin screamed in excitement.
Irwin acknowledged to USA Today how dramatically her life had changed in the few months since she finished a crocodile-research trip in Australia and traveled to Hollywood for the dance competition.
