BioWare’s New IP Called Anthem, Trailer Released
Previously known as Project Dylan, Anthem was revealed alongside a brand new trailer during EA’s pre-E3 2017 live stream.
Fans of long-time EA developers Bioware will be in attendance with Mass Effect: Andromeda, but the hope is that they might have something to share with their mysterious new IP. With gameplay set to be showcased during E3 2017, it’s only a matter of time until we find out.
During Microsoft’s show on Sunday, Jon Warner from BioWare concluded the presentation with an extended look at Anthem, and boy does the game look like a promising experience. It’s also an RPG-style adventure, most likely in the style of Bungie’s popular Destiny.
Watch the teaser trailer below.
When EA executive vice president Patrick Söderlund hinted during an investor’s call that BioWare was working on a new IP, many fans assumed that they were working on a new PRG. Still, what’s most important is that it looks like a lot of fun, and any game you can play with your buddies is a welcome addition.
BioWare and publisher EA are just now ramping up the marketing cycle for the game and there is still a long way to go until Anthem is released. BioWare is calling this a “shared-world action-RPG”, that takes place in an open world setting, which sure makes this game sound like it wants to compete with Destiny. Anthem thus far has a release date 2018.
How do Mass Effect’s biotics work according to science?
The scenes of soldiers suiting up suggest we’ll be some kind of elite force that ventures into the unknown-an overgrown planet that may or may not be Earth.
My appetite is whet though, and we’ll hopefully get more info soon.
