Birdman Denied Involvement In Lil Wayne Murder Plot
Sources tell TMZ that while a call to Birdman shortly after the April 26 shooting of Lil Wayne‘s tour bus was indeed made, as stated in the court documents, Birdman “was not involved in any way” with the shooting.
The beef between Wayne and Birdman has been in the public eye since Weezy first called himself a “prisoner” of Cash Money.
Lil Wayne and Birdman have been at odds since December, because of a dispute over a Lil Wayne album that Cash Money allegedly refused to release.
Wayne’s bus was shot up after a show in Atlanta, Young Thug and Winfrey’s hometown.
After being named as a suspect, Winfrey turned himself in to Atlanta police on June 2.
Winfrey was charged with the shooting and arrested July 2 on charges of terroristic threats and acts, aggravated assault, and other crimes.
While police are linking rappers Birdman and Young Thug to the April hit in Atlanta, it seems one of them would like to clear the air. He also goes by PeeWee Roscoe and can be seen in Thug’s “Halftime” video, which is being studied as evidence in the indictment. According to TMZ, the Cash Money Records head is denying being part of any plot to harm his artist. TMZ reports that unnamed sources from his camp are not only maintaining their own innocence, but also that Birdman had no prior knowledge of the actions of Young Thug’s road manager, James Carlton Winfrey.
But sources say Birdman assured Wayne he was not involved in any way, and vowed to help figure out who was behind it.
