BJP lawmaker Vijender Gupta thrown out of Delhi assembly by Marshals
Summary: New Delhi, Nov. 30 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Vijender Gupta on Monday alleged that he was abused and assaulted by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs inside the Delhi Assembly.
Gupta in turn has alleged that he was verbally- and physically-abused by AAP MLAs and the marshals respectively. Sharma was suspended on November 24 initially for two days but AAP lawmakers on November 26 passed a resolution in the assembly to extend his suspension for the entire session.
In a high-voltage drama, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta was marshaled out from Delhi Legislative Assembly today. following his allegation against Speaker Ram Niwas Goel of being harsh towards BJP legislator O P Sharma. We simply needed to be within the House to debate on the Lokpal.
The BJP MLA resisted attempts by the marshals to remove him and tried to hold on the bench but the staff jostled with him and evicted him from the House. We wanted to draw the attention of the Speaker against the partial probe. He was then taken for a medico-legal examination and gave a written complaint at Civil Lines police station.
Earlier, the woman MLAs of AAP charged that Sharma had used derogatory remarks against Lamba again during a protest at the Nihal Vihar area today. BJP’s remaining member Jagdish Pradhan walked out of the House after Gupta’s eviction.
