BJP MP compares SRK with Pakistani terrorist Hafiz
BJP MP and popular Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari here on Wednesday condemned superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s statements on the growing intolerance in the country. “He further said that those who were trying to malign image of a nation as tolerant and liberal as India… their act was nothing less than treason”.
Khan had openly stated that there was “extreme intolerance” in the country, saying intolerance towards creativity and religion will hurt the country. A few of the freakish comments have been ridiculed by the masses, who took to the social media to express their disgust, thereby supporting SRK. “His films earn crores here but he sees India as an intolerant nation”. I think it will be better if I answer that question…Anything that is intolerant or anything that is said without correct evidence is completely unacceptable.
BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya had posted that the actor’s “heart lies in Pakistan”. “I retract my tweets”, the BJP leader tweeted.
A BJP MP Adityanath had criticised Shah Rukh Khan’s comments and stated that he was like alleged terrorist Hafiz Saeed. The voices are not anti-BJP but anti-national.
Shiv Sena spokesman Sanjay Raut said: “Shah Rukh must not be targeted for being a Muslim. He says something and then I have to come and (explain)”.
Shah Rukh Khan spoke out about intolerance in an exclusive interview to NDTV on Monday.
Adityanath’s comments drew criticism from both the Shiv Sena and veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher. “Shah Rukh’s tune is to sing with Pakistan and these forces against India”, he wrote.
Salman Khan said it was very unfortunate that Shah Rukh was termed a “Pakistani agent”.
“By talking about returning the awards (including Padma Shri) he has committed treason”. He should be punished for this. “The masks of those people, who said India’s reputation has taken a beating due to Ghulam Ali and Khurshid issue, have fallen off after the Shah Rukh episode”, it said. He also said that people must not consider country like a “dharmshala”.
