BJP: Robert Vadra complaint is farcical
The 46-year-old also accused the BJP of using him as a “political tool whenever they need to divert public attention”.
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to initiate action against Robert Vadra if he has broken or violated any law, adding that all attempts are being made to defame Sonia Gandhi’s family.
He said the media should make a “distinction between me as an individual conducting a business as anyone else would, and my wife’s family in politics without constantly attempting to link the two”.
“He is complaining too much”.
The BJP meanwhile has described Vadra’s assertion as farcical and said the party did not believe in politics of revenge, alleging that he used his connection with the Gandhi family to do business. “The more they hound me, the more apparent it is becoming that they are using their attacks on me as a political tool whenever they need to divert public attention”. “The problem is he has used his political connections and the influence wielded by the Gandhis in the governments of Haryana, Rajasthan and elsewhere and the facts speak for themselves”, Rao said. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that the CAG had pointed out the windfall gains which the Skylark Hospitality firms have got.
“The whole world knows about the truth”. We have not harassed any political opponents since we came to power.
The party-run state governments in Haryana and Rajasthan are probing land deals related to him, and recently Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar had asserted that Vadra would be behind bars within the next few months.
An official spokesman said here the commission would also probe their subsequent transfer or disposal, allegations of private enrichment, ineligibility of beneficiaries under the rules, and other connected matters.
