BJP Will Face a Debacle Worse Than Delhi in Bihar: Lalu
Congress president Sonia Gandhi speaking at the “Swabhiman Rally” in Patna.
Holding Modi responsible for economic crisis, Gandhi said that it is because of his mistakes that inflation has gone up. “All the DNA samples collected will be send to the Prime Minister to get them tested to know the DNA of people of Bihar“, JD(U) spokesman and MLC Neeraj Kumar told PTI.
The leaders of the grand alliance have billed the Patna rally to be grand and they are hoping that lakhs will attend the event. “They also call it BIMARU”, the Congress president said. The “Sabdhwapsi” campaign was launched by Bihar Chief MinisterNitish Kumar in a bid to capitalise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s DNA barb against him. She has however not reached Gandhi Maidan, where the rally is being held, as yet. “PM made only empty promises of a corruption-free India”, she said.
About farmers, she said Narendra Modi had promised to enhance Minimum Support Price (MSP) by one-and-a-half times “but acted just opposite to it and is trying to snatch land from farmers to distribute them among a few rich friends”.
Questioning Nitish’s claim, the IT Minister posted: “There has been a significant rise in crime in Bihar and reduction in investments in last couple of years”.
She said Mr Modi, who used to challenge Pakistan and show the neighbour his “56-inch chest” before the elections, was now silent when Indian security personnel and civilians were losing their lives in ceasefire violations from across the border.
The JD (U) has combined with Lalu Prasad’s RJD and the Congress to resist the BJP.
Modi, during his radio address “Mann ki Baat” on Sunday, said his government would not re-promulgate the land acquisition ordinance, which lapses on Monday.
After a talk between Mulayam Singh Yadav and Rashtriya Janata Dal? chief Lalu Prasad yesterday, it was decided that Samajwadi Party would attend the rally.
The Patna rally would come against the backdrop of Mr Kumar hosting Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who sought to make light of the special package of ‘1.25 lakh crore announced by the Prime Minister at his Arrah rally.
