BK unveils Halloween-inspired black bun burger
According to burger news site Burger Lad, the “HA.1”.
The Halloween Whopper will feature a black bun that has A1 Sauce baked into it. The sauce will also be prominent on the burger, along with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, pickles and onions.
Burger King’s adjusted second-quarter earnings per share came in at 30 cents, compared to the 25 cents analysts were estimating.
Well, it turns out Japan isn’t the only place where Burger King experiments with the color of its buns.
Burger fans in the US will finally get a taste of a bun that is far removed from the typical yellow potato or white bread ones typically used by fast food powerhouses. It’s inspired by the black-bun burgers the chain has sold in Asia for several years.
Those who drooled over the original will be sad(der) to know that the American version will not have the black cheese or squid ink sauce of the Japanese version, making it but a pale(r) imitation of something truly magnificent.
The “Halloween Whopper” will be coming to a drive-thru near you on September 28, reports Time. While the ads for the burgers make the burgers look not quite so bad, the actual photos from regular Burger King customers definitely do.
