Black Friday and Thanksgiving shopping 2016

Now 15 years old, Pierce has gone Black Friday shopping with his mother since he was eight and happily left the store with the gaming computer he wanted before hopping in the vehicle and heading to the next store to score another great deal. For some shoppers, electronics at big discounts was the draw.

It has become so popular, it has extended through the weekend and online as well, with “Cyber Monday”. Numerous deals available to them on that day can be found anytime in the run-up to Christmas, notes Bankrate. So too is Apple. Expect to see a couple viral video showing Black Friday shoppers fight over Hatchimals surface on Youtube tonight.

But it all pales beside the US.

The holiday shopping season kicks off on Black Friday and it can be a bit overwhelming.

Dixons Carphone has notably said for the last few years that it carefully plans and targets promotions with global suppliers, enabling wholesaler and retailer to achieve a sales boost while maintaining profit margins.

Black Friday shopping can be overwhelming, so if you want to avoid going off the rails and buying a bunch of gifts you don’t need – or winding up in debt, which could drag down your credit – don’t keep your list in your head.

Some French retailers have gone back to the original name this year, but not all. The general manager of Jersey Gardens says they’ve opened early for the past three years and each year they’ve seen steady growth in foot traffic, with more and more people taking advantage of early deals. All leave was cancelled and police would have to work 12-hour shifts to oversee the crowds. While this may not be such a big deal, there have been numerous deaths and injuries linked to Black Friday shopping crowds.

It’s #Thanksgiving Day 2016 and that means turkey dinner, NFL football, and even #Black Friday shopping. Dollar sales in the second week of November were eight per cent lower than in the same period a year earlier, according to research firm NPD Group.

Toys R Us in Milwaukee was full of shoppers minutes later.

It’s Black Friday, and United Kingdom retailers are gearing up for the biggest ever tech sales with great laptops deals, Apple deals, phone deals and more. They normally begin their sales on the day that Black Friday was originally penciled in for on the calendar: Friday. Around 137 million people plan to or are considering doing their shopping during the Thanksgiving weekend, according to a survey conducted for the NRF. Times may vary by location, so it wouldn’t hurt to check local stores’ hours ahead of time, by phone or online.

The spend per person was also down previous year – with an average of US$299.60, compared to US$380.95 in 2014. Retailers like Amazon, Target, Walmart, Newegg and Best Buy always offer a wide array of Black Friday deals. Some products, like high-end cameras, are regularly upgraded in the New Year.
