Black Lives Matter protesters block Maine road

But that doesn’t mean that black people don’t have a concern about police encounters, and their concern is a fantasy.
White lives don’t matter? Many at the protest in Salisbury will attend another event next week to talk about ways to curb violence.
Syracuse Common Councilor Helen Hudson said she supports the movement because there are some issues of police brutality across the country. “There’s no reason to hate each other when we can all just uplift each other”, said Britny Morrison, of Black Lives Matter. “The focus is on government not doing FOR them, but TO them”. There is growing tension in the area after a black man was killed by white officers after a scuffle at a convenience store. “Somebody is getting time”. We want our day in court.
Pastor C.T. Kirk said the goal of the meeting is unity.
“It’s really a space to heal”, Potashnik said of the vigil. We want peace. We want everybody to come together.
The Black Lives Matter group in Wichita had originally planned to hold a protest on Sunday, but the local police chief had another idea – let’s have a joint cookout instead. In her words, the message of the police was: “I’m here for you”. “And our condolences are to the families”.
“Why are we so quick to choose sides when we are killing each other?” she said.
Organizers say a Winnipeg vigil dedicated to black deaths is overdue.
You’re on the go! “What’s his record? What’s this and that?” So at this point I don’t think it’s voting or the streets. “When we start being proactive in our community instead of waiting on racially motivated instances to happen for us to unite and protest and march”.
“When we dismiss what we here black folks telling us, and instead we get defensive about it and get upset; It makes them feel completely misunderstood”, said Freeport Resident Janet Plante. “It is not with the police”.
“Activists plan to gather in Lincoln Park to show solidarity with victims of state-sanctioned murders at the hands of police nationwide”, organizers said in a news release.
Obama immediately spoke about law enforcement being the problem.
Decisions are often made within a fraction of a second by officers and some turn out bad.
