Black Lives Matter protesters confront Clinton
“We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel”.

Many activists, including Williams, are calling out Clinton’s comments and questioning whether her concern for the mass incarceration of black individuals in America is authentic, or just an attempt to win the black vote.
This may be a little too late to help with the SC primary for Sanders, but it goes a long way towards chipping at her self-proclaimed “Black Firewall“, which in and of itself has infuriated many African Americans and made them feel like they were being used and extorted by the Clintons. After the incident, he met with BLM, mapped out an aggressive racial justice platform, and hired a young black woman to be the face of his campaign.
Clinton was confronted with her own 1996 comments about gang crime during a videotaped encounter with a young African American activist Wednesday evening, and the tense exchange hung over the Democratic contest Thursday, although Clinton did not address it during her public events.
“Hillary Clinton has a pattern of throwing the Black community under the bus when it serves her politically”, Williams said before the event.
Clinton has called for an end to “the era of mass incarceration” and disavowed much of the 1994 crime law signed by her husband, former president Bill Clinton.
Recent polling suggests Clinton is up big in SC over Bernie Sanders ahead of this Saturday’s Democratic presidential primary, in large part because she’s particularly popular with black voters.

But she added: “I think there were some things that were negative”.

The crowd surrounding the Black Lives Matter advocate, which the Huffington Post reported was mostly white, began to boo and hiss her. “I’m not a ‘super predator, ‘ Hillary Clinton”. However, a report in Vanity Fair questioned the truth in Clinton’s statement because of the huge amount of financial support her campaign has received from Wall Street.
Washington Post columnist Janell Ross, though, described Williams’ ambush as “genius” because it bridged the gaps in Clinton’s evolving views of the criminal-justice system.
Or it could be the stunt – which played out inside the home of a Mount Pleasant attorney – represented Clinton’s turn to be hit, as Black Lives Matter pulled similar antics tagging Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley.
This is not the first time Clinton has had an event disrupted by protesters from the Black Lives Matters group. Lena Dunham threw her weight behind Hillary, but no one, thankfully, seems to care. “Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, resorted to dog-whistle politics and dehumanizing language”.
