Black Ops 3 earns $550m in opening weekend, sales up ‘significantly’ over

Unlike last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which told a tedious parable about a private military corporation trying to profit from endless war, Black Ops 3 dives into the metaphysics of paranoia. This number is rounded up from the number of copies of the game that have been sold so far.

As Activision is pointing out with these numbers, “Call of Number” is as big in entertainment as anything going, and that is with the yearly installments.

Speaking of digital sales, Activision also revealed that Black Ops 3 also set a franchise mark as digital downloads of the game across current-generation consoles rose almost 100 per cent from a year ago.

Earlier today, Treyarch Studios released a small new update for their recently released shooter, Call of Duty Black Ops 3.

Engagement per player also set a new franchise record with fans playing more than 75 million hours online during the first three days of availability.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops III is off to a great start”, said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising for United States retail chain GameStop. This slog of a campaign is how players unlock the excellent Nightmares mode, so unfortunately it can’t just be ignored like past Call of Duty campaigns. The game released to very positive reviews, which instilled even more confidence in me that Black Ops 3 would deliver one of the best Call of Duty experiences in years.
