Black Ops III is multiplayer only on Xbox 360 and PS3
Activision announced today that copies of the game for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 won’t include a campaign mode. The news comes months after the publisher revealed that it had plans to bring Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to older consoles. This has been especially clear with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s big changes.
This is the first time Activision has published a Call of Duty title without the inclusion of a Campaign mode.
Arriving on November 6, 2015, Call of duty: Black ops 3 will release for Pc, Xbox One, Ps4, Xbox360, and Ps3. Many assumed that the game wasn’t coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3 early on. A number of other features created to leverage the new hardware, such as the Weapon Paint Shop and new suite of eSports tools, will also be absent from the PS3/X360 versions.
Local retailer Game 4 U has an Xbox One bundle on promotion this weekend, which includes a 500GB console, one controller and two games, Federation Internationale de Football Association 16 and Gears of War Ultimate Edition, all for R5,699.
The PS4 console and controller combo feature the black and orange color motif of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3″, complete with the “III” insignia as well as the emblems of the game modes. It turns out that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III will NOT have a single player campaign.
Whenever we write about Call of Duty’s single player campaign, we normally receive eloquent and thoughtful feedback that queries our decision to cover it, because plainly it is only the multiplayer game that matters. Xbox 360 users will still get to chain movements together too.
Last-gen players won’t be able to experience the new campaign Treyarch has cooked up for ‘Black Ops 3’. Given that the old gen version of Black Ops 3 ships with less content, it might be a good idea for Activision to lower the price.
