BlackBerry Priv pre-registration page is now live
Consumers who will opt to pre-register will be the “first to know when the revolutionary new BlackBerry, powered by Android, is available for purchase”. Interested users can sign-up on the page to get updates as to when the device would be reaching the shelves. There have been numerous leaks and rumors about this upcoming Android-running handset, and now the official BlackBerry Priv registration page confirms a few specs and more. It has been engineered with the world’s finest technology, and packaged in an ultra-thin, ergonomically flawless device with a keyboard hidden by SmartSlide technology. Specifically, the phone will feature a 5.4-inch display, a large 3,410 mAh battery and a Schneider-Kreuznach certified camera. The Blackberry Venice and BlackBerry Dallas being the previous smart phones that were featured as Androids. The feature of giving users a physical keyboard works greatly in favor of the BlackBerry phone as users that need a physical keyboard for more intensive typing can use that. Pre-registration for the upcoming BlackBerry Priv is now live.
The company has confirmed that the BlackBerry Priv will be a high-end device and is expected to sell the handset at a premium price of $630.
“Sometime next year we have to make our device business profitable, otherwise I have to rethink what I do there”, Chen said at the Code Mobile conference in California last week. But let’s face it, due to the leak culture we live in, the exact release date will probably be leaked long before BlackBerry releases it.
