BlackBerry’s next Android phone pics show design, interface
There was confusion at first because BlackBerry announced that “Only devices purchased via ShopBlackBerry in the US will support wireless charging”.
The codename Vienna has been tossed around in recent weeks, but this is the first solid look at the phone – assuming it is the real-deal. Now, less than a week after that device launched, the BlackBerry Vienna has started to leak out. The design of the device looks totally different from the current Android smartphone; the slider keyboard makes the Priv standout device from the rest.
Just a short while after the oft-rumored BlackBerry Priv was made official, it appears the company is already readying its second-ever Android phone.
If you’re a BlackBerry fan but don’t like sliders, this may be the smartphone you’ve been waiting for. Given the design of the PRIV and the Passport, it’s nice to see BlackBerry (sort of) return to their roots. Surprisingly the BlackBerry still has a few patrons left who swear by the physical keyboard but are forced to swap for an Android or iOS due to other shortcomings, the Priv and the Vienna will be a flawless last minute bait to retain these customers. Apparently, BlackBerry is working on Android phones devoid of physical keyboard as well, but for now, their hopes are firmly placed on the ones with physical keyboard.
If the Priv sells poorly, BlackBerry may be forced to change its plans. Over the weekend, however, BlackBerry CEO John Chen confirmed that there was a whole range of products planned after the Priv.
