Blake Griffin Apologizes for Altercation that Resulted in Fractured Hand

Hours after the team confirmed that Griffin broke a bone in his right hand while throwing a punch in Toronto, Griffin expressed regret for his actions in a Twitter post Tuesday night.

With the team playing well over the past few weeks as Griffin has been injured, experts believe that the team is looking into breaking up the trio of Chris Paul, Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

Griffin, an All-Star in his first five seasons in the National Basketball Association, reportedly got into an argument with a member of the equipment staff during a dinner in a Toronto restaurant.

As they prepare for a longer-than-expected absence from Blake Griffin, the Clippers seek a Hollywood ending to their road trip Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

Coach Doc Rivers said Tuesday that the team would be releasing a statement about the incident and that it would be addressed more fully before the Clippers’ evening game in Indianapolis. “At the conclusion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken”. Griffin returned to Los Angeles on Monday for X-rays and had surgery on Tuesday, the team announced.

Since Dec. 26, the Clippers rank among the league leaders in 3-pointers made (11.7 per game) and 3-point percentage (40.2). The Clippers have performed well with Blake on the sidelines, but only against teams they’re supposed to perform well against.

ArashMarkazi of ESPN also revealed that Testi and Griffin were close friends and suggested that their relationship were more than that of a player and a team staffer.

Clippers superstar Blake Griffin has already missed the last 15 games because of a strained quad suffered on Christmas Day. “You don’t want it to happen to anyone and you obviously don’t want it to happen during the season or even when the season is not going on”. The equipment manager walked outside and Griffin followed him and punched the man again. The two incidents have taken place outside of him being on the court. Before the injury, there was talk the team would explore dealing the eight-year veteran before the trade deadline. The Pacers have won four of their last ten, while the Clippers have won seven of their last ten games.

The Clippers were on the road in Toronto for a five-game road trip.
