Blessed with career, says Casey Affleck after Oscar win
Larson won her 2016 Academy Award for her portrayal of an abused woman in Room. Actress Michelle Williams was nominated for Best Actress, and the film was also nominated for Best Picture, but ultimately lost the latter award to Moonlight.

This live night of Los Angeles took place the great ceremony of the Oscars and it is Casey Affleck which left again with the statuette of the best actor!
As reported by New York Magazine, two women – a producer and a cinematographer – who worked with Affleck on the film I’m Still Here made accusations against Affleck for verbal harassment and unwelcome physical advances.
The star, who has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing, employed the services of celebrity lawyer Marty Singer – known as “Hollywood’s guard dog” – and settled for an undisclosed amount in both cases.
To ignore Casey Affleck’s disturbing workplace behavior is bad enough.
Enduring the expected embrace and kiss on the cheek, Larson wasn’t totally cold towards Affleck, but she certainly wasn’t the warm Brie we’ve witnessed on many other occasions. “But I think he was probably touched, and I think that we are – I mean, not to brag or anything, but I think we’re the only two brothers to win Academy Awards, ever”, Casey added.
Of course, if you won an Oscar for playing the victim of sexual assault, you might also feel ambivalent about giving an alleged sexual harasser an award. However, Wu died on that hill pretty much alone. The three actors, who all won in their respective categories, are addressing the Oscar mix-up head on and how they recovered from the uncomfortable moment.
Then at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the top honor went to Denzel Washington, for Fences. The camera repeatedly lingered on Gibson laughing and eating Twizzlers.
