Blizzard Has Announced the Newest Overwatch Hero Ana
Ana is now available only on Overwatch‘s Public Test Realm on PC, which is bringing a bunch of changes to the game beyond Ana herself.
Ana’s Biotic Rifle also fires long-range darts that replenish your team’s health or inflict damage to an enemy when you shoot them with one. In any other game, the idea of a 60 plus year old woman sniper would come off as unrealistic or simply odd. Are you interested in playing as Ana? Presumably, her damage output will be far less than Widowmaker’s, but her ability to stay away from the fray makes her a potentially unsafe healer in the hands of sharpshooters. This should be most effective as a combo move with tank and assault class characters. If we use Widowmaker as an example, we can assume that Ana’s weakness will be leaving herself vulnerable to attack as she takes aim through her rifle. Despite her responsibilities in leading the organization, Ana refused to step away from combat operations. Overall, Ana seems like a hard but rewarding addition to Overwatch’s cast. Ana is not only the first hero to be added to the game since it launched on May 24th, she’s also the mother of Pharah, another of the game’s heroes.
Ana is not out yet, but she’s “coming soon”.
Blizzard will forbid Overwatch Competitive Play teams from doubling up on heroes – or tripling, quadrupling, and so on. Here is the official description of the panel. An image of a thumbnail on China’s Youku video streaming site has been discovered on the Overwatch subreddit, which clearly shows who we believe to be Sombra based on teaser images previously released of her. “Q&A session moderated by Kim Phan (senior manager, esports)”. Who knows, maybe that’ll be the name of another character down the line!
