BlizzCon 2015: 3 New Heroes Revealed for Heroes of the Storm
In explaining the problems they’ve had with matchmaking, Browder revealed that Heroes of the Storm actually borrowed its matchmaking system from StarCraft 2, the real-time strategy game it was originally built on top of. A trailer unveiled at BlizzCon showed off a new mode, a new battleground, and three new heroes.
Here’s what’s cool – because Cho’gall requires two players to control him, Blizzard is introducing a quest, of sorts. The difference in ranks between players is much smaller, and character roles are more balanced between all the members of a group. Playing four games with Cho’gall will net you a few in-game gold as well.
“If you’re in Brazil at 4 in the morning, and you’re one of the highest-ranked players in the world, maybe we don’t want to wait 30 minutes to get you the best match”, Browder said.
Players can not purchase Cho’gall, as he will be given to select players who attend BlizzCon or are watching with a Virtual Ticket. Other players will have to team up with someone who already has the character and win two games to unlock Cho’gall for themselves.
Lunara is a highly mobile ranged Hero, and Greymane, of course, can transform into a werewolf. To make things even more hectic, this mode gives every player a choice between three random Heroes with a single Hero Ability.
Plus the Tower of Doom Battleground.
Gamers will be unable to directly destroy the barrier that protects the enemy core and will instead need to deal with altars that will then enable bell towers to fire on the structure, creating more complex battles.
Blizzard has just announced Cho’gall as a new hero for Heroes of the Storm.
