Bloc Party “The Love Within”
Considering the groove of the track, the frontman asking for a healthy set of dancing feet in the first verse seems to have been a good choice. Recently, they performed at Maida Vale for BBC Radio 6, where they performed new songs “Exes” and “The Good News”. With a slow and steady build and warbling synth, it’s a challenge not to dance.
After playing two sensational shows in the USA, Bloc Party (Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack) revealed the permanent members of the band that would replace drummer Matt Tong and bassist Gordon Moakes – Louise Bartle on drums and Justin Harris on bass.
The cut displays a more tempered, matured Bloc Party as “The Love Within” strips away the frantic and abrasive tone of Kele Okereke and company’s early albums, yet their sense of carving a dancefloor-ready rocker remains crisply intact.
“The Love Within” is the first track off the group’s unnamed fifth record, due out in early 2016.
“Personally I’m really amazed with the sonic landscape so far”, he told triple j’s Veronica and Lewis. “But things did change, I feel better for it. Obviously everyone is aware of the line-up situation, this stuff is just coming to light now but we dealt with this two years ago”.
