The just-released Switch also has a chance to be something really special, with its hybrid console/handheld setup making it arguably the most flexible video game system ever in terms of accommodating the lifestyles of various gamer demographics.
If you’re one of the lucky folks that was able to secure an early pre-order for the Nintendo Switch, then chances are that your $300 console arrived yesterday (or at least should be arriving shortly).
The Nintendo Switch released globally on 3 March is facing issues of dead pixels on its screen.
The inability to back up or transfer data also presents a potential storage issue in future. The console itself has reviewed well, as has Breath Of The Wild, the new Zelda game which is one of the console’s launch titles.

In fact, most aspects of the console are modular and replaceable, including the analog sticks, game cartridge reader, and headphone jack. A search on Amazon shows a few companies like Hori, Illumishield and more are offering to look out for your Nintendo Switch, though let’s hope Nintendo does something to fix this from getting potentially worse.
Which, of course, makes it all the more disappointing that it’s not included when you buy the Switch. Of the two consoles WIRED has access to, the error only occurs on one of them.
So how can you protect your Nintendo Switch’s screen? It means that no Switch owner should risk attaching any kind of skin to their console because whatever curing method Nintendo’s manufacturing partners used is not compatible with adhesives.
Nintendo hasn’t quite reached that level yet, but they’re still nowhere near offering a proper explanation or solution. Certainly some retailers are sold out, although the machine is still available from some online stores and can still be found on the High Street, albeit patchily.
This could be considered Nintendo’s way of expressing gratitude to gamers who’ve stuck around and supported it all these years.
