Bloody Starbucks Polar Bear Cookies Can Win This Christmas?
That’s right, the red icing used to make a scarf on the bear apparently looks like a slit throat dripping with blood.
Others were quick to suggest that the apparent attack on polar bears was actually a continuation of the company’s campaign against Christmas that began back in November, when Starbucks rolled out their annual red cups for the holiday season, but without the Christmas ornaments or snowmen that have been featured as decorations in the past. Starbucks hasn’t even sold the polar bear cookies in years, reports BuzzFeed. Do you think Starbucks is trying to be anti-Christmas by serving their beverages in plain red cups this year? The debate stemmed from one photo posted on social media. Many did not realize they were so dated.
“Ok so Starbucks gets rid of their Christmas cups then they slit polar bear throats on their cookies?” one user commented. “That’s a holiday you don’t forget”.
These five-year-old cookies marked the second time the Internet has feuded with Starbucks this season.
“Holy s-t, Starbucks went pretty f-king dark this holiday season”. A polar bear with it’s throat slit? The chain left out their usual holiday designs in favor of a solid scarlet wrapper – prompting the devoutly religious to claim Starbucks was launching a “war on Christmas”.
“I gotta love Starbucks’ new cookies”, said Twitter user Philip Halloween.
