Blue Bell Ice Cream returns to stores in Ascension on Dec 21st
The goal is to get the ice cream everywhere.
The company resumed production last month in its hometown of Brenham, 70 miles northwest of Houston.
In the spirit of the holiday season we are delighted to announce that Blue Bell will jingle again.
Contaminated Blue Bell ice cream was linked to 10 cases of listeria in four states, including three deaths at a Kansas hospital.
Now the company declared that it has improved its procedures of manufacturing, granting more importance to cleaning and sanitation.
Blue Bell Ice Cream is set to line store shelves across Louisiana for the first time in months Monday after it was recalled earlier this year over listeria concerns. The store is open from 9 to 9.
From Cookies n’ Cream to Homemade Vanilla for now there’s a limited flavor- but whatever’s available will do when fans have been waiting since summer to savor.
Robertson says they’ve made huge changes to ensure that listeria is never a problem again in Blue Bell ice cream.
The Chocolate Factory had a rough year without Blue Bell on their shelves which accounts for nearly one-third of their total sales. Louisiana was part of phase IV of the return.
Blue Bell Spokesman Joe Robertson says seven different flavors will be available.
All this week, 115 formerly furloughed employees will be stocking the freezer sections with several fan favorites including Buttered Pecan, Cookies ‘n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Homemade Vanilla, Peppermint, Pistachio Almond and The Great Divide.
Now that the ice cream has come back into sight- Merry Christmas to all and to all a good Blue Bell.
