Blues defender Kalas signs new deal
The centre-half has also had loan spells in the Netherlands and Germany during five years at Chelsea which have brought just four senior appearances.
Czech global Tomas Kalas has signed a new contract to extend his stay with the Premier League champions for further three years.
Jose Mourinho and his Chelsea staff will be keen to see how Kalas continues to progress with another season of regular football under his belt.
The Championship outfit, who made the playoffs last season only to succumb in the final to Norwich City, have extended his loan spell for the forthcoming season.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho said: ‘For a kid like Kalas to make his debut and play the way he did.
The 22-year-old defender moved to the Chelsea academy in January 2011 from Sigma Olomouc as a hotly tipped prospect.
Kalas made his full debut in April 2014 in the 2-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, where he impressed at the heart of defence alongside Branislav Ivanovic.
Earlier this summer, the versatile defender was in action for his country as the host nation in the Under-21 European Championships.
