Blues “in talks with” 26-year-old Brazilian star

Alexandre Pato is now on loan from Corinthians at São Paulo in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, but the Brazilian footballer could be making the move to England soon.

A report in the UK’s Independent newspaper suggests that the 26-year-old prefers a move to London rather than Liverpool, and with his current contract set to expire in December, the striker is said to be available for a fee of around £11 million.

United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to add more strikers into his squad given that Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are his only two senior options.

The former AC Milan forward scored 63 goals in 150 games during his time with the Italian giants, and since he left the Serie A side to return to his home country, he has continued to average around one goal in three games. “One day I knew I would like to come to England because I think the championship is the number one in the world”.

Liverpool were linked with a move for Pato. It is very competitive.

If he really is favoring the defending Premier League champions, that’s good news for Chelsea fans.

Earlier, Pato revealed: “I don’t think the physical part of English football would be a problem”.
