BMW boss doing well again after auto show collapse
Unfortunately, BMW was forced to abruptly end a press conference at the ongoing motor show after Chief Executive Officer Harald Krueger collapsed on stage.
The CEO, 49, was escorted offstage by two assistants following the incident on Tuesday, which took place shortly after the briefing started.
BMW spokesman Maximilian Schoeberl said that 49-year-old Krueger had been recently traveling a lot, and was not feeling well ahead of the presentation but chose to go ahead with it.
BMW was using the conference to present a revamped version of the 7-series sedan, but it will do so without Kruger, who has reportedly said he will not return to the show.
Krueger told Bild newspaper Wednesday that his doctor had told him he’d just had a short fainting spell.
Krueger stumbled backward and fell on his back during the first five minutes of the presentation of the German auto house’s new lineup.
