BMW boss Harald Krueger faints on stage during Frankfurt auto show
This was his first press conference as the CEO of BMW. But BMW is one of the fastest growing vehicle companies in the world, and Krueger has been personally involved in the expansion of their production capacity and the development of new models. Consequently, the press convention was cancelled so that Mr Krueger could possibly be examined by a physician. “They’ve ruled out anything serious”.
Stocks In BMW fell momenatarily after BMW CEO Harald Krueger collapsed during a presentation at an auto show.
The auto maker told reporters at the event that Krueger’s dizziness comes after a recent trip overseas and was due to circulation issues, media reports said.
Chief financial officer Friedrich Eichiner took over the CEO’s duties at the auto show for the remainder of the day.
BMW spokesman Maximilian Schoeberl said that 49-year-old Krueger had been recently travelling a lot, and was not feeling well ahead of the presentation but chose to go ahead with it.
IBTimes United Kingdom reached out to BMW’s press office, and a spokesman could confirm that Krueger is in stable condition.
BMW was launching the 1.5 litre i8 vehicle, which is powered by an electric motor.
