BMW’s new CEO faints on stage
In his first appearance at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the newly appointed BMW CEO, Harald Krueger was five minutes into the presentation that drew attention to the company’s latest models when he suddenly collapsed and fell on stage.
In a brief statement BMW said the CEO had a dizzy spell and that he had not been feeling well in the morning after returning from a trip abroad. The car show runs through Sept. 27.
BMW later said, “Harald Krueger experienced a moment of dizziness”. He took the helm at the Munich-based car maker in May. As a result, the press conference was cancelled in order that Mr Krueger could be examined by a doctor.
The CEO was apparently feeling unwell before the conference, having recently returned from abroad.
Chief financial officer Friedrich Eichiner took over the press roundtable that was held afterwards.
