Boa constrictor pulled from beneath SUV in Pennsylvania
A woman Pennsylvania may have taken a ride with an unusual passenger on Thursday.
One of the men, herpetologist Cameron English, identified the snake as a red-tailed boa constrictor.
An 8-foot-long boa constrictor had to be pried loose from the undercarriage of a woman’s auto in the parking lot of the Geisinger Kingston medical building Thursday afternoon.
Katie Hauer found the slithering surprise near her SUV in a Kingston parking lot. English said he would care for the snake while the owner was located. A herpetologist studies amphibians and reptiles.
“It was jammed between the heat shield and the floor pan”, Cameron English said. The vehicle was raised off the ground, and for 45 minutes as the expert wrestled with the snake. “I’m going to check under my auto and around my vehicle every single day now”.
Snake experts were called in and a tow truck driver pitched in to lift the SUV. It wasn’t immediately known who owned the snake, which appeared to be well-fed and was likely a pet.
