Body of 7-year-old girl found in Allen County creek
Gabriella Doolin, of Allen County, was watching a football game at the Allen County Scottsville High School when she disappeared Saturday evening.
Police said a search began immediately and it was reported to the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green at 8:05 p.m. that her body had been located.
Police say an autopsy conducted Sunday confirmed that the girl’s death was a homicide. The medical examiner’s office will determine the manner and cause of death.
Carter, who has understood the dad of Gabby since grade school, said she’s 18 girls on her squad. Her burial at Allen County Memorial Gardens will follow. And now, authorities have ruled her death a homicide.
Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the case. The creek where her body was found was just a few hundred yards from the football field. “We are praying for you, we are crying with you, we are mourning with you”. After the third time, shut it down and we quit and the entire community started looking for her, we had a complete lockdown of the school.
Father Brian Doolin fought back tears while speaking before the crowd.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Doolin family”.
‘Thank you for all the calls and concern, we are blessed to have the support we have’.
Carter shared the same unbelief that lots of other Scottsville residents expressed on Sunday: Things like this do not occur in their small town. Scottsville, about 65 miles northeast of Nashville in neighboring Tennessee, is a town of just 4,000 people.
Police say there’s no word yet on a possible suspect or motive.
