Body of missing Manchester woman found in apartment crawl space
Detectives found the body of an adult woman concealed inside a crawl space behind a false wall inside a closet in Hutchinson’s home.
Hutchinson had been missing for three weeks and investigators believe she’d likely been there since September 20, around the same time her roommate Stephen Andrade went missing.
Last week, Andrade was found dead in a Massachusetts hotel room if a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Manchester emergency crews responded to a home in Manchester on Sunday night after a call about a unusual odor in the building.
Andrade had been dating Hutchinson’s daughter until very recently.
Hutchinson was first reported missing on September 20.
Police believe that Andrade had been driving Hutchinson’s 2005 BMW, which was found last week in a neighboring New Hampshire town.
A positive identification of Hutchinson will not be made until after an autopsy is conducted Tuesday.
“It is possible she was killed somewhere else and hidden in the apartment, but it is more likely she was killed in the apartment”, Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin said. The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office believes, based on statements Andrade made shortly before his death, that he likely killed Hutchinson, concealed her body, fled and eventually killed himself.
‘Family members say that it is “out of character” for Hutchinson and Andrade to be out of touch for this period of time, ‘ Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department said at the time.
