Boko Haram burns kids alive in Nigeria, 86 dead
Alamin Bakura said he lost several members of his own family in the attack. The first troops to arrive in Dalori were unable to overcome the attackers, as the terrorists were better armed, soldiers told AP on condition of anonymity. They were said to have fled towards Alau Dam at 6 p.m.
Survivors say Boko Haram arrived in the town on motorcycles and in two cars before causing the unspeakable carnage, shooting residents and setting homes on fire. The Boko Haram fighters retreated only after military reinforcements arrived with heavier weapons, they said. Survivors told journalists the response was too slow, and say they fear another attack. But before the soldiers could figure out how to go about screening the crowd in the dark of the night, three bombs exploded from three suicide bombers, which reportedly killed dozens there.
Nigerian military spokesman, Colonel Mustapha Ankas, said, “While people were running for their dear lives…three female suicide bombers attempted to make their way into the crowd…and subsequently got blown up”.
According to him, during the 45-minute military “fierce repulsion”, lives were also lost, while some people sustained various degrees of injuries while fleeing the attacked village in the evening of Saturday.

At least 46 people were killed and 35 others injured when Boko Haram gunmen raided Dalori village near Maiduguri, burning the Nigerian village and sending residents fleeing into the bush, according to a relief official and residents. Gen. Hassan Umaru, had sent a condolence message to the District Head of Dalori, Alhaji Lawal Bashir, and the residents over the unfortunate incident.
He commended the villagers for their resilience and urged them to be strong and committed to the fight against insurgency.
At least 69 dead bodies have been registered in a morgue following multiple suicide attacks in a community near Maiduguri, capital of Borno State in Nigeria’s volatile northeast region, sources at a government-run hospital said on Sunday.
A rescue worker, who participated in the evacuation of the victims, said 50 corpses were taken to the Borno State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri and 15 others corpses deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. “The insurgents also attempted to penetrate Dalori IDP camp, but the attempt was resisted by troops, which resulted into the detonation of IEDs by suicide bombers”.
Despite claims late past year by President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigeria had “technically” won the war against Boko Haram, the group has kept up a string of attacks.
