Boko Haram kills 49
Three states – Adamawa, Borno and Yobe – have been under a state of emergency since May 2013, due to Boko Haram’s attacks.
On Tuesday, President Buhari ordered the arrest of his predecessor’s security adviser, for allegedly stealing a few $2bn (£1.3bn) meant for military equipment.
If the funds had been properly used, “thousands of needless Nigerian deaths would have been avoided”.
The unending violence has torn apart Nigeria’s northeast.

The Yola Federal Medical Centre received 37 injured people and four bodies, spokesperson Malam Adamu Dodo said, according to NAN.
The dead and wounded were taken to hospitals, where family members gathered. Boko Haram has pledged allegiance to ISIS. “Of course, those responsible for these crimes must be held accountable”.
Also, an online news newspaper, PREMIUM TIMES, quoting unnamed military sources, reported yesterday that the terrorists captured a T-72 tank as well as several artillery weapons from the unit. Buhari’s rhetoric of change, and his vow to decimate Boko Haram won him victory. “I did not use the office for any self-serving agenda”, he said in a statement.
The confident Chief of Army Staff said that insinuation is a figment of imagination of the authors of the story.
“There is no doubt that the arrests of the suspected terrorists are important milestones which show the synergy of effort in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria among the security agencies and the public”, he said.
The Institute of Economics & Peace says Boko Haram earned the distinction of killing the most people via terrorist attacks previous year.
That offensive came as Jonathan faced elections. “The soldiers went on a mission for the Nigerian nation and they have since returned and joined their Battalions”. Soldiers told The Associated Press they were going into battle without food and armed with just 30 bullets each.
When contacted by PREMIUM TIMES, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, a colonel, directed enquiries on the matter to officials of 7 Division, Maiduguri.
