Bollywood actress tear gassed during botched Paris robbery

Bollywood actor/model Mallika Sherawat was attacked in what police suspect was a home robbery attempt at her Paris apartment building last week.

According to the report, Mallika and her 45-year-old lover arrived at the businessman’s uptown apartment in the 16th arrondissement at about 9:30 pm last Friday. The men immediately fled after that. Sherawat had to get treatment after sustaining heavy blows on her face. An investigation is under way into the incident.

Sherawat is a prominent actress in India having starred in a number of high-profile Bollywood films including Khwahish and Murder.

“I made a conscious decision to divide my time between Los Angeles, America and India”, she said. In her latest tweet, she posted a throwback video of an earlier visit to Taj Mahal. The actress, who has been carving her niche in worldwide cinema, was not the only one who was attacked.

On Monday she posted another video.

She added: “I am so grateful for my life”. The day I get married, you all will be invited. Along with Mallika was her male friend and both ended up facing the horror from these cowardly thugs.
