Bomber stopped by security at Stade de France
The third attacker, for reasons which remain unclear, waited another 23 minutes to trigger his vest which only killed him as he had stepped away from the stadium and was next to a tree and a traffic sign in a side-road wedged between office buildings.
All basketball and volleyball matches in the country were also called off.
The story quoted a security guard, referred to only by his first name, Zouheir, who described how one of the suicide bombers had a ticket to the France-Germany match but was turned away at the gates when his explosive vest was discovered. This means none of the bombers was successful to enter the stadium, which was probably the main target of attack, he said. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility on Saturday for the gun and bomb attacks on a stadium, a concert hall and Paris cafes that also wounded 350 people, 99 of them seriously.
PARIS-French police have identified the first of seven gunmen who killed at least 129 people in a wave of carnage claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group, as global investigators stepped up their probes into Paris’ worst ever attacks.
What happened at the Stade de France?
French President Francois Hollande, who was in attendance at the soccer match, was evacuated from the stadium and escorted to the Interior Ministry.
“On behalf of The FA, I want to express our sorrow and send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of those who have lost their lives”. However, it is alleged Deschamps and Low decided not to tell their players about the incidents. Because of poor cell service in the stadium, few fans knew of the bombs or the accompanying attacks in central Paris. We lost a game of football on Friday evening.
The gunmen enter the small concert hall and open fire as a performance is underway by the USA band Eagles of Death Metal, a blues rock group from Palm Desert, California.
An announcement over the loudspeakers after the match told people to avoid certain exits “due to events outside”. Everyone was trying to get out of the doors at the same time.
“They were wearing black clothes and they were shooting at people on the floor, executing them. So I covered his eyes, took his arm and just ran”. The pitch ended up being used as an area where spectators were allowed to stay until it was safe to leave, while the German team was stuck at the stadium.
The French team made a decision to stay with them as a show of solidarity. “Let us together defend love, respect and peace”, Mr. Diarra said. And Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan said he would not consider the Paris attacks a “one-off event”, and added, “I would anticipate this is not the only operation that (ISIS) has in the pipeline”. “The players were very afraid”, he said. It is simply too unsafe. The Stade de France will host the opener on June 10 and the final a month later.
Off The Post, for one, respectfully disagrees.
The FFF says on its website Saturday that its president Noel Le Graet has confirmed that the friendly at Wembley “will go ahead”.
