Bon Jovi honors high school football player who died
Most recently, Evan Murray, a 6-foot-2 star quarterback at Warren Hills High School in New Jersey, died from a ruptured spleen.
Bon Jovi says that as a father of football players, his heart and prayers go out to Murray’s family.
The New Jersey rocker placed a sticker with 17-year-old Evan Murray’s number 18 on his guitar during a concert Thursday in the United Arab Emirates and posted a tribute to him online.
Governor Chris Christie, a friend of Bon Jovi, previously expressed his condolences for the Murray family on Twitter. “You are in my prayers. Win one for Evan”.
Massive internal bleeding due to a laceration of the spleen caused Murray’s death, according to Morris County Medical Examiner Dr. Ronald Suarez.
Murray is the third high school student who died from injuries from football this month. Murray managed to walk off the field, but collapsed as soon as he reached the sideline on Friday night.
Bon Jovi offered his support for the team.
Jesse Bongiovi, Jon Bon Jovi ” s son, made the Notre Dame football team as a walk-on in 2013 and he played for the Irish at that year’s Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium versus Rutgers.
