Bond is back. Film stars mingle with royals at ‘Spectre’ premiere
He walked down the red carpet with confidence at the opening of Spectre at London’s Royal Albert Hall. “I’m not overwhelmed, I’m very excited and I can’t wait for people to see the movie”.
Daniel Craig has admitted he doesn’t like watching himself on the big screen.
Wearing a black tuxedo, with a poppy pinned on its left side, Craig spent time signing autographs for fans. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organization known as SPECTRE. I’m honoured and flattered, but I also think you have to live up to the expectation and that’s what the gratification is for me in being invited into – it really is a family.
“I thought he’d come after me, but he was so sweet about it. He said, “Look, it’s happened before”.
Walliams and Reid arrived in the silver 1951 Rolls Royce from the movie, which is featured as Bond drives through the Sahara desert.
“What a way to arrive”, said Walliams, adding that Spectre is “bigger and better” than its predecessor, Skyfall.
Even Sam Mendes, the director of “Spectre”, was initially sceptical. With a movie, everyone is going to give the same performance…so that aspect isn’t too nerve-wracking. “There wasn’t a gap for me”, says Craig, looking relaxed in jeans, a white T-shirt and blue cardigan. I’m really proud of it, we sweated blood over it for two years. “But I have a few really amusing lines, which is absolutely essential for me”. Craig, however, has so far refused to comment on whether his time in the role will die another day, or if his fourth outing as Bond will be his last.
I love Seydoux in this role.
“That was a lovely feeling that they would trust me”.
Naomie Harris returns as Eve Moneypenny from Skyfall, with another awesome performance. To me, Daniel Craig is the definitive bond with Skyfall and Casino Royale being his obvious highlights.
As stars gather in London for the premiere of 24th James Bond film Spectre, meet the sidekick who’ll be rounding out the German bad-guy duo alongside Christoph Waltz.
The 39-year-old actress hopes to reprise her part again, saying: “I hope so”.
“Spectre” was filmed in England, Italy, Austria, Mexico and Morocco and includes the usual Bond ingredients: high-speed chase scenes, a suave villain, sultry female leads, exciting gadgets and witty one-liners. Keep your eyes peeled for Wilson in a scene with Andrew Scott’s MI6 chief Max Denbigh.
But Madeleine, she is very different.
While he has also suggested that he will continue, Craig’s comments show at least an ambivalence about the all-consuming role of Bond from an actor who guards his privacy closely and enjoys a quiet pint in the pub.
