‘Bones’ enlists American TV treasure Betty White as new squintern
Betty White is scrubbing in for Bones.
The 93-year-old legendary actress will come in as Jeffersonian’s latest “squintern”, according to TV Line. We didn’t expect there to be a crossover with “Sleepy Hollow” in a billion years, we didn’t expect Booth to go missing in the premiere, and we certainly did not expect to see Betty White coming up as one of the most notable guest stars of the upcoming 11th season.
As an accomplished and extremely experienced forensic anthropologist, it seems weird that she is brought on as only a squintern, which is what characters call Dr. Brennan’s (Emily Deschanel) interns. The latest guest star to be announced is everyone’s favorite, Betty White. The fact that Whites Mayer is already an expert in her field should mean the case should develop even more smoothly, that is, if Brennan can manage to check her ego.
White’s past TV credits include Community, The Client List, 30 Rock, Boston Legal, and, obviously, The Golden Girls, on which she played Rose Nylund. She’ll return to her game show roots with a spot on the new “To Tell the Truth” panel, according to E!
Bones season 11 premieres Thursday, October 11 at 8 p.m. on Fox. In addition, Bones has featured a revolving cast of squinterns for a long time, but they have often been younger people in the field who are willing to help out and learn from Brennan, Hodgins and the rest of the team.
The new season of Bones picks up six months after the season 10 finale.
