Bono, The Edge and Bon Jovi crash hen party in New York
Who needs the traditional male strippers when Bono, The Edge and Bon Jovi take the time to stop by your hen party? Mary Pat Christie agonizes for a moment, saying, “This is a hard one”.
Gov. Christie, meanwhile, agreed with minimal delay: “Bon Jovi”, he said.
They both went for Bon Jovi, though there was some hesitation from Mary Pat. “Their music or their person?” Springsteen, whose leftist political views are well-known, hugged Christie for his leadership after Hurricane Sandy ravaged New Jersey, which caused Christie to weep.
Christie had previously declared his love for all things Springsteen in an interview with The Atlantic, where he claimed to have attended over 130 show in a 40-year period.
Politically, Bon Jovi has expressed a preference for Hillary Clinton. The launch of his campaign in Livingston High School included several Bon Jovi songs.
“My friendships are apolitical”, the rocker said, “and yes, I absolutely gave him permission to use my songs”.
Christie had sought Springsteen, a Freehold native, to play at his 2010 inaugural, but the rocker declined, citing an aversion to politics. Having spotted the celebrations, they congratulated Mah and her party and even posed for pictures with them.
