Boston police officer shot; condition not disclosed
The officer remains in the intensive care unit at Boston Medical Center but is expected to make a full recovery, Evans said. His name was not released.
The man suspected of opening fire on a Boston Police officer on Friday is well know to police.
The injured officer boxed in the suspect’s vehicle on a side street in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood at about 10:30 a.m., knowing that the suspect was on probation after being released from prison in April, police Commissioner William Evans said. 40 mm handgun, the officer applied a tourniquet to his wound and was transported to Boston Medical Center.
“He is out on probation and he is out selling drugs, and that’s why he was pulled over”, Evans said during a news conference Friday at the hospital where the officer is being treated.
