Boy buried after police shooting, father still in hospital
Jeansonne spoke after a closed hearing in a Louisiana jail where he said the two local marshals were ordered held in lieu of $1 million bonds.
Almost a week has passed since the incident occurred, but answers to disturbing questions are slow in coming. Stafford and Greenhouse allege they witnessed “domestic abuse” and acted in detaining Few, who supposedly drove off in his SUV.
His father, Christopher Lew, is now recovering from the same police gunfire that killed his son.
At first, marshals Derrick Stafford, 32, and Derrick Greenhouse Jr., 23, said that they had an “exchange of fire” with Chris Few, though footage purports to show that Chris had his hands up.
A chase resulted in a “volley of bullets” as the child sat in the vehicle. At least 18 rounds were fired at the father and son from two different firearms.
“That simply just wasn’t true”, he told CNN on Monday. Investigators are looking into the extent of their relationship. He said the boy had no siblings and the family had recently moved to Marksville from Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Riddle says the episode is “not good for any of us”.
The two were among four officers at the scene of the shooting.
It has since emerged that in October 2011, Lt. Derrick Stafford was indicted by a Rapides Parish grand jury on two counts of aggravated rape. Stafford and Greenhouse are among six officers named in a lawsuit filed by Ascension parish resident Ian Fridge. Louisiana State Police, in charge of the investigation into the shooting, declined to comment. Stafford also has five civil lawsuits in which he is listed as the defendant. That particular case is still pending. That case is still pending. Marksville city officials asked for an attorney general’s opinion about the marshal’s authority to issue traffic tickets in the city limits without authorization from Marksville leaders. “Multiple gunshots”, said Col. Mike Edmonson. State Police began investigating the shooting an hour after it happened, he said. I’ve got to deal in facts. “I feel justice was not served”, said Latasha Murray.
Mark Jeansonne (ZHAN’-sawn) is the attorney for Chris Few, who was seriously wounded when local marshals in the town of Marksville opened fire.
Jeremy, 6, died at the scene from head and chest wounds. “We need to find out why”.
Investigators have been reviewing forensics evidence, 911 calls and body camera footage. Two other police officers were there, but it is believed that they did not discharge their weapons. “It … shed a lot of light on what happened the other night”.
A court hearing scheduled Monday in the shooting death of Jeremy in Marksville could provide a few answers on the tragedy.
The fault for the death of Jeremy Mardis does not end with Greenhouse and Stafford. Everyone who’s been complicit in allowing these maniacs to keep their badges is culpable of aiding and abetting murderers.
Whittington said he last visited Few on Sunday evening.
Whittington said Few was awake but drifting in and out of consciousness. She said that the little boy loved class, playing and doing alphabet puzzles.
She said her fiance was not comfortable because he had previously had a conflict with one of the marshals.
