BQ Aquaris A4.5 is the newest Android One smartphone
The company has partnered with BQ to launch the first Android One smartphone in these countries.
The Android One initiative is a Google program to work with phone makers to deliver low-priced phones that offer a reliable user experience. Talking about the Aquaris A4.5, it is conformed to get latest software updates at least for 24 months.
The dual-SIM supporting Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based BQ Aquaris A4.5 features a 4.5-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) resolution IPS display with Dragontail glass coating. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The Aquaris A4.5 smartphone is powered by a battery of 2470mAh capacity, and comes with microSD card slot (up to 32GB). The BQ Aquaris A4.5 is a €170 smartphone that will be available soon in Spain and Portugal.
Android One has a great market presence in South East Asia – especially Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Philippines – since it provides good quality hardware at economical prices.
Pricing is set at €169.90 (about $193 USD) and the device is available now from BQ’s website, as well as a slew of other retailers.
Then, on the back, the smartphone packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The handset supports 4G LTE connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Global Positioning System and USB OTG. At about $200, the Aquaris A4.5 is significantly more expensive than what Google promised for their Android One devices.
