Brad Pitt being investigated for child abuse
Actor Brad Pitt is reportedly being investigated for child abuse.
According to TMZ, Pitt disputes the accusation and the LAPD is looking into the case because that is routine whenever anyone reports child abuse.
The original TMZ report suggested all six of the couple’s kids were on board the private jet when the incident that prompted the alleged investigation took place.
Now sources tell People.com the case has been referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the reported altercation occurred while the jet was in the air, en route to Los Angeles.
Interestingly enough, the Department of Children and Family Services started investigating Pitt, but after interviewing both Brad and Angelina, they let them go.
As we reported, Brad Pitt is now under investigation after a September 14 incident on a private plane in which he allegedly got verbally abusive and a bit physical with the kids he shares with estranged wife Angelina Jolie.
A source close to Pitt told USA Today that the Fight Club star meant to cooperate fully with any investigation and that he believed the child abuse allegations were baseless. “We are not investigating any case, nor do we have any allegations against Mr. Pitt”.
But asked whether the department had been alerted to any incident involving Brad, they told Business Insider: “Do you think even if we had we would share it with you?”
Editors at People.com report that Pitt is accused of being verbally abusive with one of his and Angelina’s six children, as well as getting “physical” while the family was travelling in their private plane.
Witnesses told the site that the plane landed in Minnesota airport at 8pm, where Pitt allegedly continued to rant on the tarmac before trying to leave in a fuel truck.
On Monday, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt citing irreconcilable differences after they had been together for over a decade. Jolie’s attorney Robert Offer said she filed for divorce for the “health of the family”. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time”.
