Brad Pitt under investigation for child abuse
UPDATED at 7:32 a.m PT: Pitt has been interviewed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families but the LAPD does not now have an investigation open on the case.
The source reportedly told authorities that Brad began screaming and “getting physical” with his children on a private jet, possibly under the influence, and then continued ranting after the plane landed.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said earlier Thursday that Pitt is not the subject of a child abuse investigation by Los Angeles police, despite “rumors” to the contrary.
After Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from husband of two years Brad Pitt on Monday, she specifically cited his difference in “parenting methods” as her basis for the split, while also requesting sole physical custody of their six children.
“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children”, the source says. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light”. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time”.
After news of the divorce went public, Pitt explained in a statement to PEOPLE that his focus is on the “well-being of our kids”. She also filed for Pitt to be granted child visitation rights and to share legal custody of the children.
UPDATE: The LAPD has denied the reports, according to Us Weekly.

Jolie’s lawyer Robert Offer said the actress had filed for the dissolution of the marriage “for the health of the family”. We are not investigating any case, nor do we have any allegations against Mr. Pitt.
The couple first met when they played married spies in the film Mr And Mrs Smith, when Pitt was still married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston. They married privately at their French chateau in the Provence hamlet of Correns with their children serving as ring bearers and throwing flower petals. With Maddox being the oldest at 14, and Knox and Vivienne the youngest at 7, the kids are all at an age where they’ll understand what’s going on, at least somewhat.
