Brandon Browner re-signs with Seattle Seahawks
Seattle’s getting the original Legion of Boom gang back together, with the Seahawks re-signing cornerback Brandon Browner, 31, to a one-year contract. He is expected to compete as a depth player in the secondary and at right cornerback… Browner was a Pro Bowl selection his rookie year as the NFL’s pass defensed leader and is a two-time Super Bowl champion.
Also similar to Clemons, I think that Browner brings a toughness and attitude to the Seahawks – both won the Super Bowl with Seattle back in 2013 and were integral as leaders in their groups.
I mean, it honestly just does take a special kind of dude to do something like this on a fair-catch. The team signed Cary Williams to play opposite of Richard Sherman, but he played so poorly that the Seahawks ended up releasing him. “Secrets out, I’m grateful and…”
Look for him to have a bit of a bounce-back season in 2016 with the Seahawks. He was also instrumental in helping Seattle get to Super Bowl XLVIII, but did not play in the 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos due to a suspension.
For his career, Browner has 218 tackles and 12 interceptions. The Patriots, however, did not pick up the option on his three-year deal and he’d play with the New Orleans Saints in 2015.
